Oats for Healthy Weight Management
Our planet today is facing a huge epidemic– obesity. The number of overweight and obese people has become staggering over the recent years due to sedentary lifestyles, bad dietary habits, and a lack of any physical activity. The main cause, however, is poor diet.
Keeping a low fat and high fiber diet is one way to fight weight problems. One such type of food are oats — organic, maintains a healthy weight is absolutely fundamental in a long-term healthy diet. More and more people are becoming conscious of what they eat and are eating less meat and foods with little cholestero, making oats a natural winner in the fight against obesity.
Oats, and it’s main ingredient Beta-glucan, help people maintain a healthy weight because:
- B-glucan present in oats delays your stomach from emptying — this gives you a feeling of being full longer. Best of all, the high fiber does this by helping you feel without providing you any calories.
- The presence of B-glucan in the small intestine slows down the absorption of nutrients, leading to a long feeling of satiety.
- Oats help in weight maintenance by increasing the amount of fat discharged in your feces.
There are good supplements to get oats from, like Oats & Whey if you’re not receiving them from your diet. If you are however, supplementation is usually not necessarily.
